A local Fianna Fáil TD says delays into a report on maternity services in Cavan Hospital is 'unnerving, unsettling, and deeply unfair' to both service users and providers.
Niamh Smyth says women in the local region need and deserve these services and added that clarity needs to be provided.
The then-Health Minister Simon Harris requested the report after it emerged the RCSI Hospitals Group planned a restructuring of services at the hospital.
The report, from the National Women and Infant Health Programme within the HSE and with input from the RCSI Group, was expected to be completed in September.
However, Shannonside Northern Sound News has since learned the Department is still awaiting the report.
