A local family resource centre is setting up a food bank to help the "working poor" to deal with the cost of living crisis.
Teach na Daoine in Monaghan already deliver around 200 food parcels each month, but will establish a food bank next week.
Packie Kelly, of Teach na Daoine, says 80% of those accessing food parcels are in employment, which prompted the decision to open a food bank.
The local family resource centre has partnered with Tesco and FoodCloud to launch the initiative.
