A local engineering company has celebrated 75 years in business with the opening of a picnic area that's dedicated to the company's founders.
McAree Engineering, based in Ballinode, Co Monaghan, was founded by Vincie and Tessie McAree.
The new picnic area is at the entrance to the Quiglough Lake, a noted local fishing spot managed by Rossmore Coarse.
Managing Director, Brendan McAree said he's "very proud to be part of the Ballinode Community and to have operated from the same site since his parents set up the business in 1946".
Meanwhile, Chief Financial Officer Claire McAree says the new picnic area is "a fitting memorial for a couple who contributed a lot to the social and community life in Ballinode".
