Local domestic violence support services are to benefit from over €75,000 in funding this year.
The €4.6 million pot announced today by Minister for Justice Helen McEntee is a 20 per cent increase on last year's funding.
The money will go towards providing support, information and advice to victims.
Men's Aid operates in the north-east of the country and has outreach services in Cavan and Monaghan will receive €40,000 from the Goverment, its CEO Kathrina Bentley says the Government is finally taking domestic violence seriously.
Meanwhile Tearmann Housing Association in Monaghan has been allocated €35,000.
