Local dog owners are being reminded they can be held financially responsible for attacks on sheep.
The warning comes from the Irish Farmers Association following an attack in the Drumhowan area of Monaghan at the weekend that left eight sheep dead and more worried or injured.
It’s estimated that between three and four thousand sheep are killed or injured by domestic dogs in Ireland every year.
IFA Sheep Chair Sean Dennehy told The Joe Finnegan Show that any dog is capable of an attack.
