Cavan-Monaghan TD Pauline Tully has said that the closure of Argos Stores across the country is a "huge blow for the workers" of the retail outlet.
The Sinn Fein Deputy said the announcement made earlier today is an incredible blow for the 580 workers, their families, their communities, and for the retail sector in Ireland.
The British company operates 34 outlets nationwide with local branches in Cavan and Monaghan.
The retailer has been serving customers in the Republic of Ireland since 1996, when it opened its first stores in Limerick and Dublin.
