County Councillors from the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District have wished the firefighter who sustained injuries while on call during Storm Isha a speedy recovery.
The incident took place on Monday morning when he was in the line of duty attending a call related to the storm.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound, a spokesperson from Cavan County Council described the "welfare" of the injured firefighter as an "immediate priority."
Cavan County Council is providing all possible support to their colleague and his family, as well as his crew mates.
Cllr Shane P O'Reilly said the amount of work that was done over the few days by the fire stations across the region was immense.
All councillors gathered at the Ballyjamesduff Municipal meeting paid tribute to the injured firefighter and wished him a speedy recovery.
