Local councillors have welcomed the extension to the Streetscape Enhancement scheme.
Announced earlier in the summer, the funding was rolled out to upgrade shopfronts and improve the look and feel of towns across Ireland.
€7 million was allocated for over 120 towns and villages.
Fine Gael's Trevor Smith had raised the issue at a recent Cavan County Council meeting, with Seamus Coyle highlighting it in Monaghan.
