Local councillors says they "will not be found wanting" in offering support to the family of Stephen Kirk.
The Carrickmacross teenager has stage 4 Glioma - a type of tumour that occurs in the brain and spinal cord.
The specialised treatment he needs is only available in Texas and will cost the family €300,000 to access.
A request was made to the Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD, seeking permission to hold a fundraiser in Drummond Etra top square between 1 and 8pm on Sunday, the third of April.
Colm Carthy proposed granting permission and added that the local community has put their shoulder to the wheel to help.
Noel Keelan said the MD has a "responsibility to help in any way we can", and Cathaoirleach PJ O'Hanlon offered the use of the Civic Offices in Carrickmacross for any future fundraising events.
