Large crowds attended an event last night to launch the campaign calling for an upgrade to the A5.
The campaign called 'Enough is Enough' was launched at the Tyrone GAA Centre in Garvaghey.
.
The launch heard that 44 people have died on the A5 over the past 16 years.
Monaghan Councillor Paudge Connolly says that the upgrade needs to begin and no other delays can occur.
Families who have lost loved ones on the road were in attendance along with local representatives on both sides of the border.
Councillor Paudge Connolly says the message from all attendees at the event was enough is enough.
