A local councillor has given his support to the Performing Arts Educators of Ireland in their appeal regarding the reopening of the sector.
Dance, Drama, and Music Schools have been closed for around 18 months with no clear guidance or roadmap for reopening in line with other businesses and industries.
The PAEI are calling on the government to help facilitate the safe reopening of classes in September, with Sinn Fein's Colm Carthy stating that those in the area need time to prepare.
He says that the continued closure of stage schools may start to have a negative impact on children who are not interested in sport and are missing out on their classes.
