A plan to review the State's response to the Covid pandemic has received a mixed reaction. It's following Cabinet's decision earlier this week to go ahead with an evaluation as opposed to a Covid inquiry. Professor Anne Scott has been appointed as the review chair of the evaluation into the country's response to the pandemic. Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan show about the matter, Monaghan's David Maxwell says "no matter what was brought forward, people will always have a different view."
The local councillor who was selected by Fine Gael as a candidate in the upcoming General Election, says Covid was extremely new and "caught us all by surprise." He believes this review is an opportunity to learn from that experience in order to "do better" in the future.
