A Carrickmacross councillor has called for roadworks in Ardee to "be taken out of the control of Louth County Council".
PJ O'Hanlon says works on the N33 Ardee Link Road are "unfair and unacceptable" to people who are going to the airport or hospital appointments.
He added that the works should be undertaken at night and that better signage should be erected informing motorists of the long delays.
Monaghan County Council issued a warning today about delays for north and southbound traffic on the N2 due to the roadworks on the N33 Link Road.
The Council added that works will be in operation until the week ending October, 22nd.
Councillor O'Hanlon says he wouldn't normally send a letter to other Local Authorities, but is doing so because it affects several other counties.
