A local councillor says e-parking in Monaghan Town is a "sign we are now in the 21st Century".
The Monaghan MD has been trialling the "Park Magic" e-parking app over the last few weeks and it is now available to download.
At a recent Monaghan MD meeting, Paudge Connolly welcomed the move and "strongly advised people to download" the cashless pay-parking app.
Elsewhere, David Maxwell asked the meeting if cashless parking in one area would cover the vehicle if the driver later parked elsewhere and still had time to go on the app.
The Council's Head of Finance, John Murray, told the meeting that "if you pay for an hours parking, you are entitled to an hours parking".
The existing pay parking machines will remain in place for any customers who wish to pay by cash.
