A local councillor wants brand development specific to the tourism and heritage offerings in Monaghan.
Sinn Féin’s Sean Conlon was responding to a presentation on the tourism strategy for the county presented by tourism officer Dympna Condra at this month’s meeting of the council.
She outlined areas such as heritage including the Kavanagh Centre and the Carrickmacross Market Square, natural resources such as Rossmore, and walking and cycling trails, as key points of focus for the year ahead.
However, councillor Conlon stated that more needed to be done to promote Monaghan as a destination stressing that the SPC on tourism needed an urgent meeting.
