A local councillor says the criteria for the Outdoor Dining funding is creating an unequal playing field.
Independent councillor in Cavan Shane P. O’Reilly says that he has had upwards of 30 local publicans in touch annoyed at the caveat stating a venue must serve food in order to apply.
He says many of them are very upset at the ‘short-sighted’ criteria which also excludes any business that has not managed to fully comply with rates payments.
