A local councillor is hopeful a skateboard park could be developed in Bailieborough this year.
Sinn Fein’s Paddy McDonald asked Cavan County Council to look at constructing the park on land where three council estates meet for use by the growing community.
He says they have a responsibility to ensure that where there is social housing there are adequate amenities for the young people living there.
The executive stated that there were a few sites they were considering, and that funding should be available quickly.
Councillor McDonald says he believes the site he has proposed is the most suitable for the park:
