A Monaghan Sinn Féin councillor has hit out at the Council's usage of weed killer that contains glyphosate.
At a recent County Council meeting, Cathy Bennett said the local authority "should be leading by example" and called for an alternative to be used.
It follows a decision last year to reverse a motion of hers that would have banned the use of weed killer containing glyphosate.
However, Councillor David Maxwell told the meeting that its usage is "targeted in towns" and added that it is "not used wholesale".
