A local councillor has called on the army to be brought in to help with the clean-up and repair of power lines following Storm Eowyn.
Cllr Shane P O'Reilly said the army have been there in time of an crisis in the past with the likes of Best of the East and they should be there for the people impacted by the aftermath of the storm.
Almost three weeks on from the unprecedented storm people are becoming very frustrated and rightly so, the local councillor said.
Cllr O'Reilly said that there are 3,000 soldiers in the wider area and he says its simply not good enough that they are not being used to assist with the clean up. The Mullagh man has now called on the Taoiseach, Michael Martin to intervene and call in the army.
