Cavan County Councillor, Sarah O’Reilly, who will be joining tomorrow's nationwide hospital protest, is urging people to join the Cavan and Monaghan campaign.
Around 20 protests outside hospitals across the island of Ireland will take place on Saturday at 1pm including at Cavan, Monaghan and Drogheda.
Cllr O'Reilly says that people are extremely concerned over - what she describes as - "the continuing damage" that is being done to the health service and she highlighted how the current crisis has been caused by the lack of capacity in the system.
She added that none of this is happening by accident because It is as a direct result of years of cuts to staff, hospital beds, and A&Es, and all at a time when there's been a significant population increase.
Cllr O'Reilly says the health service is designed for a population of 3.5 million people, not the 5.5 million people that are now resident in Ireland.
The local councillor added that Ireland doesn't have the hospital beds, the ICU beds or the staff for the current population.
