Councillor Pat Treanor has called for road resurfacing works in an area of Ballybay that is prone to flooding.
During a recent meeting of Ballybay/Clones Municipal District, Cllr Treanor pointed out that conditions were very bad in the locality and there was a family ‘living in fear’ of what is going to happen to them should the area flood again.
The meeting heard that while Monaghan county Council had put a flood defence in place, ‘it was terrible’.
Cllr Treanor also highlighted how a manhole cover has lifted and all the water has washed the tar away.
It was for these reasons, he told those gathered, that he was asking for a complete resurface of the road there.
