Cllr Richard Truell believes recent incidents of vandalism and anti-social behaviour in Ballybay must "come to an end."
It was confirmed by Gardaí to members of the Ballybay-Clones MD this week that "additional beat patrols" of the town are taking place along with increased coverage on the weekends in and around certain locations to combat this activity.
The bowling green along with public toilets at the Town Park were seriously vandalised a number of months ago.
The public toilets remain closed due to the extent of damaged caused.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Richard Truell welcomed the additional beat patrols conducted by Gardai.
He added that this type of behaviour is "not acceptable" in Ballybay nor is it acceptable in any area of the county.
