A Cavan councillor has been nominated to run in the upcoming Seanad elections.
Fine Gael's Carmel Brady received a nomination from her party to contest the Cultural and Educational Panel in the Seanad.
The Cavan-based politician ran unsuccessfully for a Dáil seat in the recent General Election.
Earlier this week, Councillor Carmel Brady was selected as the new chairperson of Cavan-Monaghan ETB.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound News, she said that, if elected to the Seanad, she would work to make apprenticeships more attractive as alternative routes.
