A Monaghan councillor has called for an urgent meeting with Minister Eamon Ryan in relation to the N2 and other major road schemes across the county of Monaghan.
Speaking at this week's meeting of Monaghan County Council, Cllr Brian McKenna voiced his concerns stating that the people of Monaghan are "sick and tired" of being treated like second class citizens.
Following a meeting with local TDs from Cavan and Monaghan in relation to highlighting a much needed meeting with the Minister of Transport, Eamon Ryan, and the local councillor feels like not enough urgency is being expressed by some TDs and senators in the region.
Cllr McKenna said he wants to have the opportunity to explain that the N2 along with other local road networks need to be prioritised by the government.
The Sinn Fein Councillor says he wants to explain to Eamon Ryan that this area is being neglected when it comes to our road network.
