A Co Cavan councillor is calling on Minister Jack Chambers to stop the wasteful spending of public money and start financing essential services. Cllr Noel Connell raised his concerns at the most recent sitting of Cavan County Council.
According to Cllr Connell, constituents are "questioning" what is going on with government spending. He outlined a number of examples which are of concern to people, including the spending of €335,000 on a bike shed at Leinster House.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Connell says there is a "scarcity" of money across many services in Co Cavan. He added that there is "genuine fear" out there amongst people as to how valuable funds are spent.
