A local business woman has thrown her hat in the ring to be co opted on to Monaghan County Council.
It's follows Fine Gael's David Maxwell being elected to the 34th Dail over the weekend.
Former Fine Gael local election candidate, community activist and business woman, Fiona McCaffrey Jones is in the mix for co-option to Deputy David Maxwell's Council seat next week. Fiona is a sometime contributor on Northern Sound and points to her track record in business, community development and activism.
The Monaghan woman believes she is a strong candidate and would love the opportunity to represent the people of Monaghan. She said it would be a honour for her to have a seat on Monaghan County Council.
