A local bishop has highlighted the importance of "peace" this festive season.
Bishop of Kilmore, Martin Hayes highlighted the importance of "praying for peace" this Christmas time for those who need it most across the world.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound, Bishop Hayes said that as we celebrate Christmas, we think of the Holy Land and the terror of war,
turmoil and forced migration.
We think of the people of all faiths; Jewish, Christian, and Muslim and we pray for peace.
According to the local bishop, Christmas is a "special time" which "brings out the best in us."
As we prepare to celebrate Christmas during this Advent, Bishop Hayes said that we are renewed with joy, hope and peace for the future.
Bishop Hayes went on to wish you, your families, friends and especially those who are abroad this festive season a happy and peaceful Christmas.
