The 'Back in 5' campaign encouraging motorists not to misuse disabled parking bays came to Cavan Town on Friday.
The Irish Wheelchair Association-led campaign highlights the impact that able-bodied motorists parking in these spaces can have on disabled people.
It is an offence to park in a disabled parking space without an official Disabled Drivers Parking Permit.
Ruth Fox, service co-ordinator with the Irish Wheelchair Association in Cavan, says the campaign is named after the "throwaway statement" that is often given as an excuse for parking in disabled bays, such as a visit to the bank or a shop.
The campaign last Friday involved taking up eight parking spaces in the town to highlight what it feels like for a parking space to be occupied "with no valid reason":
