Monaghan County Council has agreed to the sale of an industrial site at Drummond Otra in Carrickmacross.
The site has been sold for around €190,000 and the Local Authority can purchase it back within five years if the proposed development has not been completed by that time.
Noel Keelan proposed the sale, saying he is "anxious to see these sites developed" and added that he "looks forward to seeing it up and running".
PJ O'Hanlon seconded the proposal and said he's pleased that a site that has been "lying idle for a while will now be used".
Planning permission has been granted to the site's purchasers and Director of Services, Paul Clifford, said the site is "ready to develop in the new year".
