Cavan-Monaghan TD Brendan Smith used question time in the Dáil to ask the MInister, Eamon Ryan, for more money to fix local roads.

Planned action was suspended earlier this month.

Workers want strengthening of the protection of staff involved in water services.

Some local authorities are doing their best while others have no guidelines and their staff get no training.

The Monaghan native said there has been increased funding provided to local authorities to purchase buildings and to repurpose old buildings.
