Alan James Burns and Eileen Ferguson have been selected for the 2022 Platform 31 scheme.
The Platform 31 programme was launched last year and is designed to support 31 artists - one from each Local Authority area in Ireland - to reflect on and develop their practice or make work in a new way.
It offers financial and developmental support for mid-career artists across all disciplines.
Alan James Burns was chosen from Co Cavan and said he was "extremely grateful" and appreciated the "supportive and encouraging space" Platform 31 provides.
He added that he now has the opportunity to expand and develop his practice by critically incorporating further accessibility considerations into his artworks.
Meanwhile, Eileen Ferguson, who is an Artist in Residence at Creative Spark Dundalk Print Studio, is the chosen artist from Co Monaghan.
She says "Platform 31 will be a great experience, creating new connections with artists otherwise I may not have met".
