The news today that agricultural shows throughout Cavan and Monaghan will return to their home grounds this summer has been met with relief and delight by organisers
Shannonside/Northernsound has been informed that the four main agri-shows have been pencilled in throughout July and August with proceedings kicking off in Arva on the 24th July next.
This will be followed by Castleblayney agri-show on the 1st of August; Tydavnet on the 20th August; and the biggest one-day agri-show in the country - Virginia, has been confirmed to take place on the 24th of August.
Owen Brodie, Chairman of Virginia Show told the Wider View that the committee was "eagerly looking forward" to getting back on track this August after "two years without an event".
He said preparations were well under way at this stage and lots of organising had been going on behind the scenes over the last couple of months.
Owen added that he was "very confident" the show would take place with gusto this August.
He also highlighted how everyone on the committee was looking forward to welcoming spectators from all over the country as people start travelling again following nearly two years of restrictions.
