A Monaghan councillor says livestreaming council meetings could encourage more people, particularly women, to become involved in local politics.
Cathy Bennett and Aoife McCooey recently attended a Monaghan Women's Assembly meeting, which encourages more women to take part in local politics.
Councillor Bennett says she and Aoife McCooey will be letting the public know more about the Assembly's goals for 2022 in the coming weeks.
She also called for Assembly meetings to be held online to allow people with child caring duties to attend.
Councillor Bennett added that having a camera in the Council Chamber would "give everyone a chance to see what happens here" and if it is something that would be suited to them.
The Sinn Féin councillor also noted that there are other County Councils that already have this facility in place.
