Livestreaming of Castleblayney would be a great tool for the diaspora.
That's according to Councillor Colm Carthy, who asked about the possibility of live streaming services in the town at a recent Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD meeting.
Carrickmacross.ie has two live stream cameras and Councillor Carthy says Carrickmacross residents abroad enjoyed viewing this year's St Patrick's Day parade on the website.
He added that Castleblayney.ie is a good website but is missing livestreaming.
He told the meeting that this "should be offered to the diaspora", but MD co-ordinator Damien Thornton said there were GDPR issues to contend with.
However, Colm Carthy questioned if there were any GDPR concerns with the service because the content of "live streaming is not stored".
