A decision has been taken to reduce the number of station enquiry offices.
The Lisnaskea PSNI enquiry office is to close. A decision has been taken to reduce the number of station enquiry offices from 28 to 17. The Lisnaskea office is one of 11 offices to close due to, what the PSNI are describing as, a consequence of the current financial and resource pressures facing the Police Service. Up until the announcement, the enquiry office in the border town operated 40 hours a week. The so-called 'front counters' are operated by Station Enquiry Assistants (SEAs), employed by a third party private sector contractor. In a statement, Assistant Chief Constable Bobby Singleton said PSNI research shows that even with these closures, over 90 per cent of households in Northern Ireland will still be within 15 miles of a station enquiry office.
