In dependant candidate Lester Gordan has shared his "disappointment" over the likelihood of missing out on election to the Dáil.
Tallies suggest Matt Carthy (SF), Cathy Bennett (SF), Brendan Smith (FF); Pauline Tully (SF) and Robbie Gallagher (FF) as the top five in the Cavan-Monaghan constituency.
Reacting to the final tally count; Lester Gordan told Northern Sound that it didn't take a "rocket scientist" to know that he is out of the race.
Despite his disappointment on not getting any further, Mr Gordon vowed that this weekend's result "will not" stop him.
Gordon went on to highlight his desire to "help people in the way they need to be helped" starting from now.
