Leona Maguire returned to a hero's welcome in Cavan last night following the Solheim Cup win.
The Ballyconnell golfer was the standout performer and became the most successful rookie in the history of the tournament after helping Europe to victory in Ohio.
The 26-year-old also represented Ireland in the Tokyo Olympics earlier this summer, and had a number of Top 10 finishes in the LPGA tour.
Local councillor Peter McVitty says Leona "proved herself on the big stage" and has done Ireland and west Cavan proud.
