The news that 200 modular homes are to be built by April to accommodate Ukrainian refugees has been welcomed as a 'really good idea'.
So far over 65 thousand Ukrainian people have arrived in Ireland and over 54 thousand of them are seeking accommodation from the State.
Sligo Leitrim TD Marian Harkin, says it's good progress that the new rapid-build units are going up in Cavan, Sligo, Thurles, Claremorris and Mahon in Cork.
However, Deputy Harkin says other options must also be considered.
Meanwhile 30 modular homes that are being built to house Ukrainian Refugees on a site in Cavan Town is set to cost 8.4 million euros.

The development of 30 modular homes on the Farnham Road in Cavan is expected to house up to 120 Ukrainians.
The Cavan Town development will consist of 30 single storey semi- detached units each with 2-bedrooms at 45 meters squared.
