All three local electoral areas in Co Monaghan are among the six highest in the country for Covid-19 incidence rates.
Carrickmacross-Castleblayney LEA had the worst 14-day rate between January 19th and February 1st.
The incidence rate in the Carrickmacross-Castleblayney Local Electoral Area was1,096 per 100,000 people between these date, giving it the highest rate in the country.
It was followed by the Monaghan LEA at 1,079, putting it third highest in the country, while the Ballybay-Clones was the sixth, at 916.
Each of these figures were over twice the national average which currently sits at 455.
There was a combined number of 638 cases across all LEAs in Monaghan over this time period.
Meanwhile in Cavan each local electoral area is below the national average.
Between the same dates Ballyjamesduff LEA recorded the highest rate at 453.5, with the Bailieborough Cootehill electoral area standing at just over 446.
The lowest across both counties was the Cavan Belturbet MD with 93 cases and an incidence rate of 358.3.
However, despite the high figures in Monaghan local GP Illona Duffy says the county is improving.
