The Embassy of Ireland in Seoul will host an event tomorrow to honour the memory of the late Cavan priest Fr Kevin O'Rourke, to mark 60 years since his arrival in Korea.
The event will gather some of Kevin's dearest friends, colleagues and family members, and reflect on his work, his legacy, and his contribution to Korean life and society.
Guests will be drawn from a variety of facets of Kevin's life, including the Columban Missionary community, Korean Universities, the media, his circle of poets and poetry enthusiasts, the Irish community, and of course his family. Seán Óg McKiernan will also perform songs from Cavan on the night. An event in Cavan at the Kilmore Diocesan pastoral centre will be held to coincide with the event at 10am tomorrow also.
Ambassador to Ireland for Korea, Michelle Winthrop says this event is a celebration of the wonderful lasting legacy that Fr Kevin left in Korea.
