A equality project initiated by a group of students at Largy College is to be adapted by Monaghan Joint Policing Committee.
It is hoped the project will be rolled out nationally given time.
Students in the Co Monaghan secondary school created a cookbook to celebrate diversity in the community.
They discovered the way in which food can bring everyone together as part of their RACE initiative - Right Attitude Creates Equality.
It was shortlisted in the "Make Our World Fair and Just" category of the Young Social Innovators Awards.
The school was also nominated for its RACE podcast series that celebrates the different nationalities and cultures within the school and wider community.
Kayla Coffee told Northern Sound that it was the podcast series that became the catalyst for the overall project's future success.
