What gardaí are describing as a "large number" of cattle have been stolen from a farm in the Cullentraghbane area of Lisdoonan near Carrickmacross. The theft of the animals some time between Tuesday, 30th and Wednesday, 31st January has "caused significant loss to the farmer", gardaí say.
Now, gardaí in Carrickmacross are appealing for the public's assistance in the case. Detectives want people to cast their minds back to the dates in question and think if they saw anything suspicious in the area, in particular the movement of cattle around Lisdoonan.
Officers also appeal to anyone who may have dashcam footage that could assist in their enquiries, to make it available to them. Anyone who can help is asked to contact Carrickmacross Garda Station on 042 969 0190.
