Monaghan Senator Robbie Gallagher has said that the recently launched Local Authority Purchase and Renovation Loan shows that the government is determined to help to turn vacant houses into vibrant homes.
The LAPR, which is an expansion of the Local Authority Home Loan, supports both the purchase and renovation of homes which are eligible under the existing Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant.
Senator Gallagher said that the LAPR is hugely important as with it, a first-time buyer who wishes to turn a vacant or derelict property into a new
home can now receive a loan to fund both purchase and renovation works. The LAPR works along with the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant and is now open to applicants. The Monaghan Senator said this support offer more options.
