The problem with housing is supply, not with landlords.
That's according to Cllr TP O'Reilly who was speaking about the crisis during a recent meeting of Cavan County Council.
He said there were numerous landlords across Cavan and Monaghan who were in negative equity and had no other choice but to sell their houses.

Cllr O'Reilly highlighted how imperative it is for the State to get more houses on stream.
He added that while the current situation was not all about tenants, there were plenty of landlords who were taking "very good care" of those who were renting their properties.
