In County Cavan, an acre of agricultural land will cost on average €10,000,

The price of land in Monaghan and Cavan rose again this last year.

And while nationally, land prices increased by an average of five per cent, in Monaghan the jump was 18 per cent. The average price for an acre of County Monaghan land is now in line with the national average of about €12,500.

In County Cavan, an acre of agricultural land will cost on average €10,000, which, is level with 2023 prices. The figures come from the Irish Farmers' Journal annual Land Price Report conducted in association with Ifac.

Unsurprisingly, highest land prices were in Dublin while the lowest average price paid for an acre was in Co Leitrim. Farmers' Journal reporter Paul Mooney told Northern Sound, if you want "really good land" in Cavan, you'll have to fork out €15,000:
