The price of agricultural land nationally will increase by 8 percent on average this year, underpinned by a strong dairy sector.
That's according to a major new survey by auctioneer and valuer members of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.
However, experts from Teagasc note that milk prices have fallen back somewhat this year compared to the this time last year.
According to the review and outlook carried out, it shows Cavan and Monaghan averaging at 8,500 per acre for good quality land.
Meanwhile the 2023 leasing market is beginning to see signs of rental value increases settling, however it is still expected that national rental prices will continue to increase at an average of 14 percent.
