Planning permission has been granted for major works at Lakeland Dairies. The Bailieborough-based business applied to Cavan County Council for extensions to their milk intake area.
This would consist of the addition of five new milk silos and one water silo, the construction of a new access road and the widening of the Knockbride Road. Also included is additional staff, tanker, and contractor parking areas with EV charging points, a new weighbridge. and a new pedestrian crossing on the Knockbride road.
The part demolition of the existing milk intake building was also part of the plans along with a new switch room and admin office. Cavan County Council granted the application with 15 conditions attached
