Fianna Fáil's Clifford Kelly has been elected Chair of Cavan County Council.
The local authority held its AGM this afternoon where he was chosen unopposed.
Clifford Kelly takes over from Aontú Councillor Sarah O'Reilly who held the post for the past 12 months.
This afternoon she remarked it had been a difficult year for the county but she praised the work of Council staff and the Civil Defence during the pandemic.
Councillor Kelly is one of the longest serving Councillors in Cavan and is also a member of CMETB.
Fianna Fáil's Craig Lovett was elected unopposed as Leas-Cathaoirleach, taking over from party colleague Aiden Fitzpatrick.
Seperately, Fine Gael's Trevor Smith was elected chair of the Ballyajamesduff Municipal District.
Independent Councillor Shane P O'Reilly was elected vice-chair.
