A Kingscourt woman along with her family feed hundreds of homeless people in Dublin each week.
Sonya McMahon says that her 'Help Our Homeless' community group that is run by her and her family offer food to the homeless in the city 365 days a year.
She feed up on 200 people three days a week outside the GPO along with a outreach service seven days a week visiting tents in parks and beaches in the harder to reach areas across the capital.
Sonya said that it's important to let those who are most vulnerable know that "somebody cares especially at this time of the year. The local woman says that she has been helping the homeless for the past five years and she said seeing it first hand day in day out it's very sad seeing what these people have to endure all year around.
The community group gets no funding and relies purely on donations from people from across Cavan and Monaghan. Sonya says Christmas Day means nothing to the people that are living on the streets. it's just another day for them.
