Kilnaleck medical centre is set to move to a new location in Ballinagh in the coming months.
Cllr Trevor Smith informed the monthly meeting of Ballyjamesduff municipal district yesterday that the GP was closing the medical service in Kilnaleck and making the move to a facility in Ballinagh.
Cllr Smith said that the loss of the medical centre was disappointing news for the people of the area especially older and more vulnerable people in the wider Kilnaleck area.
Ballinagh native and local councillor Winston Bennett says it's a very welcome announcement for Ballinagh.
Cllr Trevor Smith says he has received a number of calls from patients highlighting their concerns over the move.
